NTFP-EP Cambodia supports ecotourism communities in Stung Treng, Kratie
NTFP-EP Cambodia (Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme) has partnered with the Department of Tourism, local authorities and relevant institutions to support ecotourism communities in Stung Treng and Kratie.
The three ecotourism communities receiving this aid are: Borey O’Svay Ecotourism Community in Borey O’Svay Sen Chey District; Phnom Ecotourism Community Thala Parivat District Sanctuary, Stung Treng and Koh 30 Ecotourism Community, Sambo District, Kratie.
The NTFP-EP Cambodia received funding from the USAID through the USAID Greening Prey Lang (GPL). The funding started from July 2021 and will continue to December 2022.
Un Po Soeun, Director of Stung Treng Provincial Department of Tourism and Chan Sokunthy, Director of Kratie Provincial Department of Tourism, both said that they will support the organization in the project.
Tes Theaphy, Representative of NTFP-EP Cambodia, said that the materials provided by the organization to these communities include; campsites, bicycles and kayaks. Theaphy added that these materials will be used in a joint framework that only serves the interests of the ecotourism community.
